16/10/2025  'Jelajah Kerjaya' Launching Ceremony

At the Opening Ceremony of the Jelajah Kerjaya 2025, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy outlined that efforts to address unemployment and improve workforce efficiency cannot be undertaken by the government alone, but require the active participation of all parties. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah also emphasised that, based on last year's record, the Jelajah Kerjaya successfully attracted more than 8 hundred local job seekers and filled more than 5 hundred vacant positions. Organised by the Job Centre Brunei, Prime Minister's Office, the event took place at Bridex Hall Jerudong, 16th October afternoon.

 

The Minister added that at the same time, we are also faced with challenges such as skills mismatch, job stability and dependence on certain sectors. Therefore, efforts to strengthen the skills of the workforce must continue through reskilling and upskilling programmes so that workers are always prepared to face industry changes.

 

The launch of the Brunei Local Opportunity and Outstanding Merit, BLOOM Awards was also held. The Jelajah Kerjaya 2024 Highest Local Recruitment Award was won by 'Go Mamam', while the Caring Employer Award was won by Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant and Catering AND Imagine Sendirian Berhad. The event is open to the public until this Sunday, from 9 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon, except on Friday when it is closed from 11.30 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.
