The International Amateur Open Golf Championship in conjunction with His Majesty's 79th Birthday Celebration raised its curtain on 24th October morning. The championship took place at the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club.

The three-day championship features five categories namely Men's Open, Senior Citizens aged 55 to 69, Super Seniors aged 70 and above, Women's Open, and VVIP, VIP and main sponsor. The championship drew approximately 200 golfers.
