In a Bilateral Meeting with His Excellency Luong Chuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, His Majesty in a titah underscores the strong Comprehensive Partnership in trade, energy, and people-to-people exchanges between Brunei Darussalam and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, with trade linkages particularly in aquaculture and halal cooperation, being further strengthened by the Plan of Action. Joint ventures in the energy sector are progressing well, therefore His Majesty welcomes enhanced oil and gas exploration activities.

His Majesty further congratulates the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for its re-election to the UN Human Rights Council (2026-2028) and expresses confidence that the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam will contribute to the protection of human rights. Discussion also included regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam are comprehensive and cooperative. Diplomatic relations were established on 29th February 1992, and were elevated to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2019.
