The Project to Develop, Operate and Maintain Infrastructure at the Berakas Forest Recreation Park involves a resort of international standards, and is expected to enhance tourist experiences, attract both local and international visitors. Speaking at the Signing Ceremony between the Forestry Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and Borneo Eco-Resort Sendirian Berhad, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism said the project is also capable of creating employment opportunities, and promoting conservation-based tourism. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin also said that collaboration with an international hospitality brand will serve as a catalyst and inspiration for greater private-sector investments in future tourism projects.

 

Yang Berhormat added that the project will offer enhanced adventure and nature-based experience that balances progress with conservation, ensuring that development goes hand in hand with the protection of natural environment for future generation.

 

Representing the Forestry Department was Awang Reni bin Haji Yahya, Acting Director of Forestry, while Borneo Eco-Resort Sendirian Berhad was represented by the company's General Manager, Dato Ting Jack Chai. The Berakas Forest Recreational Park is set to be recognised as one of the key ecotourism destinations, with a strategic location and convenient accessibility.
