His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah expresses that Brunei Darussalam and Hungary have enjoyed warm and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992. The relations have been strengthened through increased interaction, particularly through people-to-people exchanges and cooperation within the ASEAN–EU framework. His Majesty made the titah while attending the Bilateral Meeting with His Excellency Doctor Tamas Sulyok, President of Hungary, in conjunction with His Majesty's State Visit to Hungary. His Majesty began the State Visit to Hungary by attending the State Welcoming Ceremony at Kossuth Lajos Square, Budapest. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
His Majesty was greeted upon arrival by His Excellency Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary. His Majesty along with His Excellency the President of Hungary, inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by members of the Hungarian Armed Forces, accompanied by the National Anthems of both countries.
His Majesty was then introduced to members of the delegation from Hungary, while His Excellency was introduced to members of the Brunei Darussalam delegation.
