In conjunction with the National Literature Symposium, the 'Malam Mutiara Shukri Zain' was held on 19th November night. Held at the Language and Literature Bureau, Berakas, the event aimed to fete the working paper presenters and the staff who organised the Symposium.

Present was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony included poetry declamations of the works of Shukri Zain and local literature enthusiasts. The ceremony was also enlivened with a stage performance by the Putra Seni Group.
