More than 980 student-athletes from 10 ASEAN countries will compete in the 14th ASEAN Schools Games, ASG. The opening ceremony was held at the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, 20th November afternoon.

The opening was officiated by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education as ASG Chairman of the Executive Committee. Among those participating in the parade was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince's daughter, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah. Eight sporting events are up for competition, namely Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Athletics, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Pencak Silat and Wushu. The Games carries the theme:  “Dream, Strive, Achieve", which is adapted from the Bruneian words, "Bekarih, Bejarih, Belurih".
