In conjunction with World Children's Day, the Department of Community Development, JAPEM, in collaboration with the government and private agencies as well as Non-Governmental Organisations held the Voices of Children Forum and Workshop, titled 'Connect and Protect'. Held at Jerudong Sports Complex, the event provided a platform for children and teenager to share their opinions, experiences and aspirations related to digital safety, bullying issue and mental well-being.

Among those present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. 20 Year 8 to 10 students representing Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School; Sayyidina Husain Secondary School and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Religious Arabic Secondary School took part in the event. Such an event is hoped to raise awareness on ethical and balanced usage of technology.
