His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 25th November afternoon received in audience The Honourable Associate Professor Doctor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs, Republic of Singapore, who is in the country for a two-day visit. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

 

This marks The Honourable's introductory visit to Brunei Darussalam since being appointed as Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs on 23rd May 2025. Furthermore, the visit provides the opportunity for both countries to strengthen bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, including religious affairs. Recently, Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore have also reaffirmed the commitment to uphold the longstanding, special and unique ties through the 11th Young Leaders' Programme hosted in Bandar Seri Begawan on 3rd to 4th November 2025.

 

Also present during the Audience Ceremony were Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.

 

His Majesty received in audience The Honourable Associate Professor Doctor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim. Accompanying The Honourable were His Excellency Laurence Bay, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam; Kadir Maideen, Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, MUIS; and Doctor Mohd Murat Md Aris, Deputy Mufti of MUIS.
