The School-Based Disaster Risk Management Program organized by the National Disaster Management Centre, NDMC, Ministry of Home Affairs is creating a culture of disaster preparedness among school children in the country, especially in government and private schools. The program organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education as well as relevant agencies, took place at Kesuma Mekar Rimba School, Gadong.

The program was attended by over 40 participants comprising teachers as well as Years four and five students. The 2-day program focused on understanding risks, practical training and building the ability to respond safely and effectively during emergencies. It concluded with a certificates presentation.
