The Official Working Visit by Members of the Legislative Council to People's Republic of China further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. The 5-day visit from 24th of November was at the invitation of the Government of the People's Republic of China.
The delegation comprised of Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd. Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim; Yang Berhormat Dayang Chong Chin Yee; Yang Berhormat Doctor Awang Haji Mahali bin Haji Momin, and Yang Berhormat Awang Mohamad Ali bin Tanjong.
During the working visit, the delegation held several separate meeting sessions, which discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the legislative bodies of Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China, in addition to exploring cooperation in technology, culture and sustainable development.
The delegation also took part in a series of visits to Xiaomi's manufacturing plants that showcased advances in technological innovation, renewable energy, smart ports, sustainable urban planning and artificial intelligence.
The visit is significant in enhancing relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China at the legislative level, apart from strengthening bilateral cooperation in various important areas including socio-economics, youth development and intercultural diplomacy.
