His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah expressed appreciation for the continued warm and close friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Viet Nam, and the stronger bilateral cooperation following the elevation of ties to a Comprehensive Partnership. Viet Nam is an important trading partner, and Brunei Darussalam is interested to deepen cooperation in agri-food, aquaculture, and halal sectors, as well as the oil and gas industry.

His Majesty delivers the titah while attending a Meeting with His Excellency To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

In the titah, His Majesty recalls discussions during His Excellency's visit to Brunei Darussalam in 2020 as the Minister of Public Security, about strengthening security cooperation including transnational crime. In this regard, His Majesty welcomed efforts by both sides in finalizing agreements on extradition, transnational crime, and the transfer of prisoners. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

His Majesty was greeted at the Headquarters of the Communist Party of Viet Nam by His Excellency and walked past a Static Guard of Honour. During the meeting, His Majesty further emphasized that the people-to-people exchanges through scholarship offers and training programmes have forged closer ties between both countries. In closing, His Majesty extended an invitation for His Excellency to visit Brunei Darussalam.
