The son and daughter of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen and Her Royal Highness Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, joined Brunei Darussalam contingent in the parade of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games Opening Ceremony. It took place at the Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, 9th December night.

In attendance was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the SEA Games Federation Honorary Life President, and the President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council. Also joining the parade was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien.

At this Games, the National Contingent participates in 9 sports events, including Polo, Sepak Takraw, wushu, Silat and swimming. Nearly twelve thousand, five hundred athletes competed at this Games.
