The 21st Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network (APUCEN) Regional Council Meeting was held recently in conjunction with the Compassion Summit 2025 at Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. It was conducted by Universiti Sains Malaysia as APUCEN Secretariat.

In attendance was Associate Professor Doctor Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, Ra'es of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB as member of the APUCEN Council. The meeting among other things discussed agendas pertaining to the latest developments, and activities as well as initiatives that are carried out by APUCEN council members, aside from charting the direction in 2026. The meeting also discussed preparations for the 8th Community Engagement Network University Seminar that will be held in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia in 2026 in conjunction with the 15th anniversary of APUCEN.

Alongside the meeting, Universiti Sains Malaysia also organised the Compassion Summit 2025 with the theme 'Empower Communities, Create Impact, Sustain Future.' The summit included keynote session, plenary dialogue, and sharing from APUCEN members on the development of activities as well as initiatives that are carried, and the launching of the COMPASSION Initiative Book.
