His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah has consented to the implementation of the national digital identity project namely Brunei-ID under the Digital Economic Master Plan 2025, starting 3rd January 2026.

In the titah in conjunction with the New Year 2026, broadcast nationwide, His Majesty also consented to the corporatisation of the Postal Services Department to PosBru Sendirian Berhad as of 1st January 2026.

His Majesty in the titah also touches on His Majesty's Government's commitment to prioritising economic progress and the well-being of the people through policy improvements and reforms; AND the country's objective to generate high-quality job opportunities and ensure the country remains relevant and competitive on the regional and global stage.

His Majesty began the titah by expressing gratitude to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, that by His grace we are able to welcome 2026.
