Brunei Identiti Digital, or Brunei ID for short, a national digital identity system that functions as an electronic form of personal identification for individuals. The initiative reflects the commitment of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to strengthening nation digital governance and facilitating public access to government digital services that are secure, convenient, and user-friendly.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications introduced in its press release informed that Brunei ID enables citizens and residents to perform digital identity verification when accessing government online services through a single login mechanism supported by biometric authentication. Developed based on robust security and privacy principles, biometric authentication is carried out locally on the user's device, while personal data is protected in accordance with government-established security and data protection requirements.

At the initial stage of implementation, Brunei ID will supports identity verification based on identity card information for access to selected government digital platforms, such as Public Service Commission Recruitment (PSC), the Business Reporting portal, TransportBN, BruHealth, E-Undi, and Talian Darussalam 123 app. Registration for Brunei ID can be completed via the Brunei ID mobile app, available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store starting 3 January 2026.
