Business owners, managers, retailers, suppliers, and importers are reminded to be vigilant when importing products for sale, and to ensure halal products are not mixed with non-halal ones. This is to safeguard the interest and well-being of the Muslim community in the country from consuming or using non-halal products or goods.

The reminder was made by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Syariah Affairs Department following the sale of PAL Collection bottle-cleaning brushes at a supermarket in the country, which were suspected to be made from non-halal materials. Analysis conducted by the Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health found that the brushes were made out of pig bristles. In this regard, the Syariah Affairs Department has ordered for the removal of the product immediately.
