This year, Brunei Darussalam has once again been invited to take part in the 49th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme, SSEAYP. The country will send a contingent of 16 youths and a head of contingent. This year's edition will see the participation of 181 youths from 11 nations.
A preview on the national cultural performance was held, 10th January afternoon. The national contingent will perform said performance as they attend receptions ceremonies in several stopover countries. It will also serve as the country's introductory activity aboard the Nippon Maru ship. Among those present was Awang Haji Mohamad Rosfazilah bin Haji Yusly, Acting Director of Youth and Sports.
Earlier, an appreciation certificate and souvenir presentation ceremony was held for sponsors of the country's contingent for SSEAYP 2025. The annual programme will last 34 days, starting on the 15th of January in Tokyo, Japan, making stopovers at several ASEAN countries, and will end in Thailand.
