The implementation of ruqyah or spiritual healing and modern medicine with clear guidelines can enhance treatment effectiveness and overall patient well-being. According to the Minister of Health, a balanced approach between spiritual and modern medicine also adds value to the national health system, such as reducing stigma towards mental illness and strengthening community and family support. Speaking during the launching of a book titled 'Ayat-Ayat Al-Qur'an Selaku Ruqyah (Jampi) dan Do'a Penyembuh', Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar said the approach is inline with the nation's aspiration to build a healthy, resilient, and prosperous community, not only from the physical aspect, but also in mental and spiritual aspect. It took place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, 13th January morning.
Yang Berhormat added efforts such as the publication of the ruqyah book are inline with the Malay Islamic Monarchy, which emphasises on balance between knowledge, faith, and the people's well-being. This also reflects the nation's commitment for holistic human development based on the values of religion, humanity, and professionalism.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti delivered a tazkirah or lecture and book review to increase understanding on the book's content.
The event ran concurrently with presentation of waqaf or endowment book. Also present Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.
