The Department of Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs extended the 'Kembara Zakat' Programme 2026 in Belait District. It targeted penghulu and village chiefs on zakat or tithe assistance application process under the National Welfare System, as well as introduction on waqaf or endowment and Baitul Mal.

In attendance was Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary for Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The programme included a zakat clinic to provide guidance as well as assistance on the procedures for applying to the National Welfare System, tithe and fidyah calculations, as well as other related matters.
