The number of civil and criminal cases filed in the Court of Appeal, Intermediate Court and Magistrates' Court showed a decline in 2025 while the High Court recorded an increase.

 

Based on statistics from the High Court or the Supreme Court, 16 civil cases were recorded in the Court of Appeal last year, compared to 20 cases in 2024. Meanwhile, 10 criminal cases were brought before the Court of Appeal last year, compared to 14 cases in 2024. In the High Court, Civil Cases filed increased from 56 cases in 2024 to 69 cases in 2025. Meanwhile, criminal cases filed in 2025 were 13 cases compared to the previous year, 12 cases.

 

In 2025, 5 civil appeal cases were filed from the Magistrate's Court to the High Court, compared to 2 cases in 2024. Meanwhile, 28 criminal appeal cases were recorded until last year from the Magistrate's Court to the High Court compared to 29 cases in 2024. Civil cases filed in the Intermediate Court decreased from 60 cases in 2024 to 49 cases last year. Criminal cases in 2025 increased to 54 cases compared to 49 cases in 2024. Meanwhile, commercial cases recorded 79 cases last year and 83 cases in 2024.

 

Meanwhile, 475 civil cases were filed in 2025 in the Magistrate's Court compared to 501 cases in 2024. Criminal cases recorded 679 cases last year compared to 481 cases in 2024. Bankruptcy and insolvency notices recorded a decrease from 350 in 2024 to 289 in 2025. 293 Receiving Order were also made last year and 3 Adjudication Order were filed in the same year.

 

Meanwhile, total Court Revenue in 2025 recorded almost two million dollars, compared to more than two million two hundred thousand dollars in 2024.
