With reference to the notice issued by Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad, BSP, on the incident at the Seria Crude Oil Terminal, SCOT, the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office informed that the situation in SCOT is being managed actively, safely and professionally.

 

An operational incident involving an overflow from the roof drain of Tank 4 at SCOT was identified and has since been promptly addressed by BSP. As a precautionary measure, temporary traffic and access controls were implemented in the affected area solely to ensure public safety. Recovery operations are ongoing with the support of the Royal Brunei Police Force, who remain on site. The Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office is working closely with BSP; the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam; and the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA). All relevant emergency response and safety protocols have been fully activated. At this time, the situation remains stable and under control, with continuous monitoring in place, including due consideration of prevailing weather conditions.
