Through the ''Heritage Pathway'', the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism aims to enhance Brunei Darussalam's global visibility. Not just merely to acquire a ''label'' but to build a sustainable ecosystem where tourism, environment and culture harmoniously coexist. The matter was shared by the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism during the “Laying the Groundwork: Beginning the UNESCO Heritage Pathway in Brunei Darussalam" Seminar. It was organised by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Tourism Development Department in partnership with the ASEAN-Korea Centre AKC, Kampung Kiulap.

 

Awang Haji Yusree bin Haji Junaidi, also shared that the ''Heritage Pathway'' represents a strategic milestone in collective national effort and underscores the ministry's dedication in identifying, protecting and showcasing the exceptional cultural and natural treasures. Attended by 80 participants, the seminar provided a platform to discuss the country's pathway towards future UNESCO World Heritage nominations. Also present was His Excellency Sun Nahm Kook, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam and Kim Jae-Shin, the Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre.
