The Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism informed that the Tourism Development Department is the regulator for Travel Agents in Brunei Darussalam as contained in the Tourism Act, Chapter 239.

 

Any company or individual who operates any Travel Agent related activity without a valid license is an offence under Section 11(1), Tourism Act, Chapter 239. If convicted, a fine not exceeding BND10,000, imprisonment not exceeding 2 years or both may be imposed. For subsequent offences, a maximum fine of BND100 per day will be imposed. Any company that intends to operate any activities related to Travel Agents must apply to the Tourism Development Department for a license. Meanwhile, for companies that are already licensed and intend to operate Haj or Umrah services, must obtain the permits from the Department of Haj Management, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

 

The Tourism Development Department also listed the latest licensed Travel Agents under the Tourism Development Department. The public can visit the website 'www.tourism.gov.bn'.
