Close collaboration between the public and private sectors is vital in advancing Brunei's economic vision, strengthening competitiveness, and contributing towards the long-term goals of Wawasan 2035. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stressed the matter in his opening keynote address during the Brunei Economy Roundtable. The closed door discussion hosted by the ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei provided a trusted platform for candid and strategic dialogue on Brunei's economic outlook, priorities, and challenges in the year ahead.

As the first event under the Brunei Economy Programme 2026, the Roundtable focused on strengthening economic resilience, accelerating diversification, and positioning Brunei to capture new growth opportunities amid an evolving regional and global landscape. Key areas of discussion included investment competitiveness and foreign direct investment (FDI), trade expansion and regional integration, sustainability, and the practical adoption of digital solutions to enhance productivity. The Brunei Economy Roundtable is an initiative that connects Brunei's economy with the wider ASEAN and APEC landscape, ensuring that the Brunei business community remains engaged with regional and global economic developments.
