Cooperation in various fields was discussed when the Speaker of the Legislative Council received a courtesy call from the Heads of Foreign Diplomatic Missions to Brunei Darussalam. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib received a courtesy call from His Excellency Sun Nahmkook, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea; and His Excellency Heuankeo Sangsomsak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The courtesy call took place at the Dewan Majlis Building, 10th February morning.

During the Courtesy Call with His Excellency Sun Nahmkook, congratulations were given on the membership of the Legislative Council in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU. Both parties also exchanged views on bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea, including at the parliamentary level. Discussions also included collaboration in the fields of trade, culture, education and tourism. Also touched upon were regional and global issues of common interest with emphasis on the role of diplomacy in relations between countries.

Meanwhile, during the courtesy call with His Excellency Heuankeo Sangsomsak, discussions touched on the long-standing good relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic, particularly in the fields of trade and economy. Both sides also exchanged views on relations at the parliamentary level and the expansion of cooperation in the fields of education and training. His Excellency also expressed his desire to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries. Also present was Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council & Clerk to the Legislative Council.
