Japan remains committed to supporting cooperation in various fields, in both traditional and new sectors including the downstream industry, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, ICT and services for Brunei Darussalam's continued development. The matter was among those highlighted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam during a Reception to celebrate the 66th Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. The event was held at a hotel in Gadong, 9th February night.
His Excellency Kikuta Yutaka in his speech also emphasised the growing connection between the two countries, and Japan is looking forward and is committed to further promoting people-to-people exchanges which are vital to building stronger and deeper ties between Japan and Brunei Darussalam. Representing His Majesty's Government was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs.
