The sighting of the new moon of Ramadhan 1447 Hijrah / 2026 will be carried out nationwide on Tuesday, 29th Syaaban 1447 Hijrah, corresponding to the 17th of February 2026. Syarie judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, Prime Minister's Office as well as officers from the Survey Department, Ministry of Development will be stationed at several designated locations.

In the Brunei Muara District, the moon sighting will be carried at the Mutiara Exchange Building; Tanjung Batu Recreational Park, and Bukit Agok. In Tutong District, it will be at Bukit Ambog Hilal Building, and Bukit Lumut Hilal Building in Belait District. In this regard, the public is requested to cooperate by refraining from approaching the said areas. The announcement of the 1st of Ramadhan 1447 Hijrah/2026 will be broadcast on Radio Television Brunei as soon as the result of the sighting is obtained.
