Brunei Darussalam has achieved a major global telecommunications milestone, with Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd, UNN, ranked among the Top 5 mobile networks worldwide in Ookla's World's Fastest Mobile Network Report for the third quarter to fourth quarter of 2025. The achievement reflects years of sustained infrastructure investment, steady network modernisation and the nationwide deployment of 5G-capable base stations, in support of the nation's Digital Brunei 2030 aspirations and Wawasan Brunei 2035.

The ranking places Brunei alongside the world's leading digital economies and highlights the strength, reliability and performance of the nation's mobile infrastructure. Today, the country's mobile network reaches 98.7 per cent of populated areas across Brunei Darussalam, while its fixed network infrastructure covers 96 per cent of populated areas. Hybrid solar-powered base stations in rural and remote areas further enhance resilience, helping to provide uninterrupted connectivity and support efforts to bridge the digital divide through sustainable infrastructure solutions.
