Muslims throughout the country began to perform the Sunat Tarawih prayer on the first night of Ramadhan at mosques, surau and religious halls nationwide.

At Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, congregants performed the Fardhu Isyak prayer, followed by the Sunat Tarawih and Witir prayers. This was to glorify the holy month, and to earn multitude of blessings on the first night of Ramadhan, which is also known as 'Qiyamu Ramadhan.'
