In conjunction with International Women's Day, which is celebrated on every 8th of March, Brunei Darussalam lit up purple lights at several key landmarks. The locations involved include Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Bridge, Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja Building and Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Berakas.

The lit up of the lights aims to commemorate the contributions and achievements of women in various fields, as well as to show support for efforts to empower women in society. As a sign of support and public participation in the campaign, the public is encouraged to take photos of the locations lit up in purple light and upload them to social media using the hashtag HWA2026 or the hashtag IWD2026.
