Since its introduction in 2007, PROPAZ has been able to produce skilled asnaf. The Minister of Religious Affairs explained, from over 300 asnaf who completed the training programme, more than 60 percent of them have managed to generate their own sources of income.
Yang Berhormat said, in reference to the monitoring phase carried out, 244 asnaf which is 56 point 3 per cent are no longer listed as applying to receive zakat or assistance from the Department of Community Services, JAPEM. The latest development in 2025, PROPAZ is strengthened through an entrepreneurial skills programme with the support of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD and the establishment of the Asnaf Skills Centre to produce independent asnaf entrepreneurs, with stable incomes, and the potential to become muzakki or zakat payers.
