The Sitting began with a Ministerial Statement from the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism titled 'Memperkasakan Pengeluaran dan Memperluaskan Pasaran Produk Pertanian, Perikanan dan Agrimakanan' or 'Empowering Production and Expanding the Market for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrifood Products.' To ensure the food sector continues to grow and consistently contribute towards efforts in diversifying the nation's economy and ensuring food security, the ministry focus on a strategic initiative namely the Export Drive Initiative. This approach will not only emphasise on food production activities to achieve self-sufficiency, but also encourage production that is oriented towards export market.
