Prior to adjourning the Sitting, the Council heard the Speech from the Speaker of the Legislative Council. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib among other things expressed hope that the Appointed Members will always remain attentive and internalise the voices of the people.

Approaches such as dialogues and muzakarah or discussion sessions between the Appointed Members with government ministries and its departments must be continued, enhanced, and fully utilised, especially in addressing public complaints and real issues in a more comprehensive and constructive manner. In carrying out official duties, the Speaker of the Legislative Council expressed hope that the Appointed Members will continue to serve with full integrity, responsibility, and commitment to ensure the planned efforts can be translated to tangible benefits for the people and the nation.
