The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE), through the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), together with relevant Government agencies, recently conducted a joint enforcement inspection at Muara International Fish Landing Sendirian Berhad.

The operation was ensuring that all weighing and measuring instruments used for trade are valid, accurate and duly registered with the SDT Unit. During the operation, a total of twelve weighing and measuring instruments were found to be in use for trading purposes. Of the total, eleven units were found to be non-compliant with legal requirements, and eight units that were not registered.

A Seizure Notice was issued and all non-compliant instruments were confiscated. The owners are required to report to the SDT Office within seven working days from the date of issuance for corrective action and compliance.
