Brunei Darussalam is expected to become an aging nation in the next 13 years. Various efforts are being made to ensure that community well-being continues to be maintained, especially in facing the aging population process, including holding a Consultation Session for the 'Age-Friendly Community Initiative'. Tutong District has been recognised by the World Health Organization, WHO, as a district suitable for implementing the Initiative. The consultation session for the Initiative was held at the Official Residence of the Tutong District Officer, 9th April morning.

 

Among those present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya'akub, Member of the Legislative Council, and Awangku Arif Anuar bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Assistant Tutong District Officer. The consultation session was attended by various government agencies, private parties, penghulu and village heads as well as senior citizens from the District. The session was organised by the Ministry of Health through the Health Promotion Centre in collaboration with the WHO and various agencies as well as stakeholders.
