In Islam, Muslims are urged to love and look after the orphans with kindness. Loving orphans is not just a noble practice, but it is a religious requirement that is clearly mentioned in Al-Qur'an. This was highlighted during the Friday Sermon titled 'Menjadi Sinar Buat Anak Yatim' or Being A Light for Orphans.
The Khatib in the sermon added that it is important to know that caring for orphans does not mean that we have to be their guardians or adopt them. We can still bring hope and happiness into their lives through various ways. First, contributing to a charity home or an orphan fund. Second, sponsoring their education. Third, visiting and bringing them joy. Fourth, providing necessities such as clothing, food and drinks. Fifth, by being a place for them to ask questions and seek guidance when they need it.
