Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman in a sabda, emphasized that the transition towards more sustainable practices and sustainable energy represents a significant national priority. Her Royal Highness said it is a commitment to ensuring that the country's progress remains in harmony with the nation's heritage. Her Royal Highness made the sabda at the Opening Ceremony of the 21st International School Brunei Borneo Global Issues Conference, ISB BGIC. Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Education, as well as supported by the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, the Australian High Commission and the British High Commission, the conference was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, 11th April morning.

 

Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by Dominic Morley, ISB Executive Principal.

 

The conference's theme, 'Sustainable Development Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy' was touched upon in the ISB Executive Principal's Welcoming Address.

 

The conference's keynote addresses were delivered by Ken O'Flaherty, Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam and Tim Jarvis AM, a British-Australian environmental scientist.

 

Her Royal Highness in a sabda said the citizens and residents of the country are proud of the trust given to protect the environment by ensuring it remains for future generations.

 

In the sabda, Her Royal Highness said, energy and environment challenges do not recognise borders, in fact all live within a shared world where the choices made in one region resonate for all.

 

Her Royal Highness then presented certificates of participation to representatives from 23 schools, including 1 from abroad and presented mementos to Conference sponsors and supporters.
