14/04/2026  Launching of Two New Books by the State Mufti Department

Religious schooling was introduced as part of the government's efforts to preserve Brunei and Islam. It also indirectly ensures that the people of the country remain firmly committed to Islamic teachings. The Minister of Religious Affairs stated this at the launch of two new books published by the State Mufti Department. It took place at the Auditorium of Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, 14th April morning.

 

The Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman, also emphasied that in the country, religion is given strong emphasis and is formally upheld, meaning that religious education is further strengthened.

 

Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti; Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Muhammad Taib, Attorney General; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Diraja Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Haji Mohd Said, Member of the Privy Council. The book “Perang Kastila dan Ugama'': An Analysis examines the historical event of the Castille War as a clash of civilizations, while the book ''Ayat-Ayat Al-Qur'an'' sebagai Ruqyah dan Doa Penyembuh Buku 2 or Healing Supplication, Book 2 highlights the role of the holy verses of Al-Qur'an as a source of healing and mercy.
