Cooperation in capital market development, sustainable finance, regional payment connectivity and other initiatives under the Roadmap for Financial and Monetary Integration in ASEAN were discussed during the 13th ASEAN Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' Meeting, AFMGM and Related Meetings. Chaired by the Philippines, the virtual meeting carries a theme "Navigating Our Future, Together". The meeting began with dialogues between ASEAN Finance Ministers and ASEAN Central Bank Governors with international financial institutions.
Representing Brunei Darussalam were Awang Haji Asrul Adrain bin Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Ahmad, Acting Permanent Secretary for Fiscal One at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, and Dayang Hajah Rashidah binti Haji Sabtu, Managing Director of Brunei Darussalam Central Bank. During the meeting, Awang Haji Asrul Adrain, welcomed the strong support from the International Monetary Fund, IMF, the World Bank Group, WBG and the Asian Development Bank, ADB, in mobilising resources, providing policy advice, and delivering targeted knowledge sharing. Such collaboration would be important to close infrastructure gaps, enhance ASEAN's competitiveness and boost socio-economic development.
