A local man was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrates Court on 5 charges under the Excise Order 2006 for the offence of possessing 405 cartons and 151 packs of cigarettes of various brands; 68 vape pod units; 53 vape accessory units; 204 cans and 52 bottles of alcoholic drinks.

31-year-old MOHAMMAD SAFWAN BIN JAHIDIN pleaded guilty to all charges and was fined a total of 363 thousand Brunei Dollars or 36 months imprisonment in default. All contraband were seized to be destroyed.
