The participants of the FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific visited the Tungku Agricultural Development Area, 22nd April morning. The visit aimed to observe the development of the country's modern agricultural sector and to see first-hand the implementation of technology in local agricultural production.

Joining the visit were the Minister of Livestock, Ministry of Livestock of Papua New Guinea; the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Samoa; the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forest of Tonga; and the Minister for Natural Resources Development of Tuvalu. The delegation had the opportunity to observe sustainable and high-technology agricultural practices that support efforts to enhance national food security, reduce dependence on imports, as well as strengthen economic diversification.
