His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received in audience Yang Berbahagia General Datuk Haji Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, Chief of the Defence Force, Malaysian Armed Forces. The Audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, 5th May afternoon.

Accompanying Yang Berbahagia General Datuk Haji Malek Razak was His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini bin Atan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam and senior officials from the Malaysian Armed Forces. Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia enjoy close and enduring defence relations, strengthened by the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU on Defence Cooperation signed on 14th February 1992, as well as through ongoing defence cooperation across various multilateral platforms.
