The Ministry of Religious Affairs presented various potential collaboration programmes, including a programme to send imams from Brunei Darussalam to mosques in Australia at appropriate times. It is an effort to strengthen bilateral relations as well as expand the sharing of experiences and expertise in the development of Islamic teachings between the two countries. The matter was discussed during a courtesy call from the President of the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) to the Minister of Religious Affairs. The courtesy call took place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jalan Dewan Majlis, 12th May morning.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman received a courtesy call from Imam Shadi Alsuleiman who is on a two-day official visit to the country. Also present was His Excellency Michael Hoy, Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam.
