Innovation in the Public Service is not just an internal improvement effort, but rather a strategic approach that contributes to economic progress, the well-being of the people and the competitiveness of the country. The matter was among those shared at the Premier Innovation Award Open Day, AIP 2026 which took place at the Audit Department.

In his keynote speech, Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Permanent Secretary for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister's Office, further explained that the public sector not only functions as a service provider and policymaker, but also as a facilitator for industrial development, investment, technology and job creation. Also touched upon was the importance of strategic cooperation between government agencies and the private sector in strengthening the country's innovation ecosystem. AIP participation is open to all Public Service employees. The Open Day also aimed to provide exposure on the implementation of innovation projects in the Public Service. 7 government and private agencies participated in the exhibition.
