World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is celebrated annually on 17th May to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the First International Telegraph Convention and the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union. To commemorate the celebration, the Authority for Infocommunications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, AITI, held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Kampung Manggis, Madang.

Present was Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications. The celebration, with the theme “Digital Lifeline: Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World", highlights the importance of developing secure, robust, and sustainable digital infrastructure to support continuous connectivity and long-term digital resilience.
