Early preventive measures are essential in preventing rodent and pest infestations, as the risks to public health can be serious.
Members of the public are advised to maintain the cleanliness of their premises and surrounding environments. Avoid accumulation of unused items or waste materials that may provide hiding places for rodents. Seal openings or gaps that may serve as entry points for pests. Ensure food and refuse are stored and disposed of properly. Seek professional pest control services if there are signs of rodent or pest infestation. In addition, the public are advised to avoid direct contact with rodents and pests, including their droppings or urine. Contaminated areas should be cleaned using appropriate disinfectants.
The public is also encouraged to remain vigilant and to continue practising good hygiene and sanitation measures as part of a collective efforts to safeguard public health and well-being in Brunei Darussalam. The Ministry of Health will continue to conduct monitoring activities and collaborate with relevant agencies to ensure that environmental hygiene standards and surveillance measures are continuously implemented by the relevant parties.
