Efforts to strengthen good relations between the Legislative Council and the Parliament of Singapore, including exploring opportunities for exchange of visits to enhance cooperation, understanding of governance as well as respective priorities, were among the matters discussed during the Courtesy Call made by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council to His Excellency Seah Kian Peng, Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore. The visit was made during an Official Visit to the Republic of Singapore at the invitation of the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore.
The discussion also touched on several matters of mutual interest, including efforts to increase community access and involvement in parliamentary institutions, as well as the importance of improving food security through agricultural and food technology (agritech food). Both parties also agreed to explore the potential of establishing a Friendship Network between the Legislative Coucil and the Parliament of Singapore to strengthen close ties and cooperation between the two parliaments.
