The Brunei Darussalam national football team played against Timor-Leste for a slot in the group stage of the Hyundai ASEAN Cup 2026. The match took place at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, 2nd June night.

In the first qualifying round, the national team lost to Timor-Leste, 3-NIL. The visiting team's goals were scored by Joao Antonio Soares Rangel in the 28th minute; Zenivio Morientes Gostavo Conceicao Mota in the 43rd from a penalty; and Oatnasio Da Silva Guterres in the 92nd minute in extra time. The second match is taking place on the 9th of June at Kuala Lumpur Stadium, Malaysia.
