The Ministry of Health, through the Health Promotion Centre (HPC), has achieved a significant milestone, with its official recognition as an Affiliate Member of the World Health Organization, WHO Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities.
This recognition further strengthens Brunei Darussalam's commitment to advancing the healthy ageing agenda and fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment that promotes the well-being and quality of life of older persons in the country. Representing Brunei Darussalam on the international stage was Dayang Siti Munawwarah binti Awang Tarif, Senior Health Officer at HPC, who attended the 3rd World Congress of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities held in Donostia/San Sebastián, Spain. During the congress, Dayang Siti Munawwarah delivered a keynote presentation titled 'Advancing the Age-Friendly Movement: Brunei Darussalam's Commitment.' It highlighted Brunei Darussalam's steadfast commitment, ongoing efforts, and strategic vision in advancing the age-friendly movement through a comprehensive and integrated approach.
